The luxurious golden building was built in the 19th century. The last reconstruction was carried out only a few years ago, but it did not prevent the hotel from preserving the Old Prague magic, comfort and elements of interior decorations.
We have something to do: you can visit the beer museum and see the process of brewing the sacred drink, you can stay in the restaurant and try out traditional Czech cuisine with beer, you can arrange a conference, you can hold a themed karaoke party, or you can just relax from everything in your cozy room. Fortunately, in the 19th century the walls were built thick, so you won't be disturbed by the city noise.
And now a little history.
The history of Žižkov is closely connected with the Hussite campaign of July 14, 1420. The Hussites, led by Jan Žižka, won over the Crusader army. In honor of this victory, a brass statue of Jan Žižka was erected on Vítkov Hill. A district was later named after him. Žižkov is an important beer district. It stands out for the large number of pubs in Prague, where visitors can taste more than 50 types of real Czech beer. Today, there is only one family-owned mini-brewery called Victor. In our restaurant next to the brewery, you can taste several types of live unfiltered Pilsner-type beer. Classic light and dark beer is prepared from first-class ingredients (various types of malt, aromatic hops and water) without the use of concentrates. Only natural yeasts are used during fermentation.
We offer live unfiltered beer with different alcohol content - 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. A beer history museum is open at the brewery. The museum has a unique exhibition of the art of brewing. Today, the traditions of brewing beer are preserved, only the technical side of performing this function changes. For the preparation of good beer, quality raw materials, specific equipment and specialists with professional qualifications are a must. All this is available to us. We use only organic raw materials. It is a high-quality hop from the town of Žatec. As for the malt, it is mainly Moravian malt and several types of Bavarian malt. The mini brewery is the cherry on top of our restaurant. We prefer to sell our beer only here, so we have exclusive types that can only be tasted in our restaurant. For us, each brew of beer is not just a learned technological procedure, but a considerate and responsible process. This is a so-called "live" beer. Such beer is unpasteurized and unfiltered. The mini brewery is based on the principle of traditional Czech technology. The beer brewing process takes at least a month. We do 4 brews every month. The beer is brewed by the famous Czech brewer Josef Korbel. During this time, guests can observe the beer brewing process, watch the operation of the brewery and enjoy the aroma of malt and hops. You are thus directly involved in the preparation process. The variety of beer is periodically renewed and supplemented with new types.
